Discovering our true will or purpose in life
Wish the answer was as easy as the heading statement, but you will be surprised how easy it can be, if you have the will and the commitment to be.
In the western tradition, we have it called it as True Will, thelema.
In the Yogic tradition, we call it Dharma
In the Taoism, we call it, the Tao.
True will is transcendent, and not easily definable and can be put into words easily because its beyond our scientific thinking. It isnt a choosen career or a lifestyle, or a projected identity.
Discovering this so called ‘true will’ is the primary goal of all true and initiated into yoga, meditation and spiritual practises. Everything else, if you haven’t realized it yet, is bondage. Bondage that we humans have created, not knowing the impact it will have for ourselves.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with having these attachments or material possessions. But it has not led everyone to realize their true inner joy or happiness with having money.
Most people with all the money in the world, move into this space of self-discovery because they realize that they were chasing the wrong thing.
The common wisdom from spiritual masters, is for one to achieve confidence, happiness and success’. For this to happen, one needs to “find yourself” or “follow your heart”.
All this is absolutely correct, and this is where passion will overcome all difficulties that life will throw at you.
However, manifesting or attracting things that you want, is not something that will be given freely. There are, a few, exceptional human beings, who have had good karma but majority of us will have to go through practises that will enhance our energy in order to manifest what we want in life.
This is the power of combining both yoga, meditation, prayers, spiritual practises with modern coaching tools such as NLP in order to allow one to realize their true self.
The path isn't as easy and as the saying goes :
“It is hard in the beginning, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end”
This resonates with my own experience of these ancient practices that are more than ever needed today. It started with a personal challenge, i found myself a coach, my perspective changed although everything around me didn’t change. It was me, myself and I.
Today, i am a spiritual motivational speaker and coach because that is my Free will/Dharma/Tao.
What is yours ?
“You are enough”
The title quote is something we have all come across. Let’s face it, you are now in this website, because you would want to see something of yourself, change.
I have a story to share later in this post, keep reading.
There are social media posts that we keep seeing and that “You are enough”. The moment we see this, we believe we are enough, and the very cause for that post gets lost.
Let me tell you a hard truth and we all need to face this.
WE ARE ENOUGH, but for that we need to understand our immense potential that lies within us. In order to understand that potential, one needs to honor themselves by committing to consistent daily habits.
Without practising or committing to change oneself, there is no way ONE IS ENOUGH. By conditioning (or thinking) ourself to think that we are enough, we are limiting our TRUE POTENTIAL.
We are conditioned to think in our competitive academic environment that we are never enough (friends/family/teachers/social media), even if no one ever told us so directly. And then, when we get into our adult life, and made to think otherwise.
Be ignore our TRUE SELF. This may not be true for some, but for most, unfortunately, this is what i see with my clients. Same clients thought the same way, till they decided that its time.
I was made to think like that for many years, and remained complacent. It has taken me years and lot of pain along the way, to go from resistance to change, to, embracing change. This is why I wish to help those who are in need and self-committed to see who they really are.
Like the way i commit myself to Yoga, meditation, breathing, reading, learning, being creative, giving, receiving.
Every single day is a reason for a cause.
That reason is to know that at the end of the day, when i write my gratitude list, i thank everything around me and tell myself “I AM ENOUGH” because i have done the work it needs.
Exercise your body 'and' the mind
As I stand waiting and wanting the next exercise in my gym, i observe something.
I see people with their trainers and wanting to be pushed.
To me, this is not a good long-term solution, but as a short term, if someone needs to be guided or shown on how to use the different equipment’s in the gym, why not. However, i find these examples everywhere with situations that we face.
Everyone, including myself, needs to be pushed and what if we can change that thinking to been pulled towards our goals in life.
This is why I truly believe in the concept of having the right mental strength / resilience to win in different areas of our life.
Let me stick with the gym, as an example.
Someone, who is currently going to the gym and as a trainer starts to follow the rigorous regimen by the trainer. This person starts to loose weight, starts getting in shape and finds approval/positivism from people around them.
They are very proud of their achievement, but what happens, once they decide to do it on their own either because it gets too expensive for them or have the confidence in them to do so. This is where most fall-out because they are used to having someone push them.
Thus, the importance of cultivating habits or even better a deeper motivation within them self to continue doing the process.
Motivation needs to come within themselves. One of the ways to finding motivation, is understanding why they are doing , what they are doing. One needs to reach that stage or threshold where they can continue once they reach they know their underlying motivation within.
To understand that, this is why I preach the importance of having the right mental tools to empower individuals. Someone with the right mental capacity can push themselves physically and someone who has then the right physical capacity, can push one mentally.
It is a cycle of continuous positivity and thus going to that desired state.
This is why, the importance of having someone as a mentor or a guide or a coach or a trainer to help them to reach that threshold. Once they reach there, even the sky becomes limitless.
What do you think ? Self awareness
I had always grown up talking to myself. But mostly, it was done in the bathroom, and i always thought how weird that was. Growing up with a large family and it was the only private space to myself.
Till i realized, how powerful it can be.
Self talk causes us to think of situations and possible results that may end on the positive and negative sides. It helps us, in our sub-conscious mind, to know what is RIGHT for us.
Just imagine this, you are faced with a situation, someone comes to you and looks to you, for suggestions or advice.
At that very instance, you have to decide what is the best for that person, or that situation. This is where, one develops intuition which largely comes from reading and listening to material which enhances one knowledge, and in turn their wisdom. Don’t confuse self talk with communication or public speaking, as they are entirely two different areas to work on.
I have been asked so many times, ‘What do you think’ ?
What do you think can only be developed from been self aware.
Self awareness comes from developing that intuition.
Intuition can be built up by constant practice of self-talk, and self-learning (with practices of YOGA and using NLP tools).
This doesn’t mean that you have to go on the streets to talk to yourself, because that my friends, is certainly weird think to do. This is where, I would be happy to assist you in your path to understanding oneself.
At the end, YOU become answerable to those around you, NO ONE ELSE.
Let me have your thoughts and comments.
Conditioning →
Reading the book ‘ The art of living’ has brought me some insights on how we need to reprogram our mind. I am also pursuing NLP - Neuro linguistic programming where it lays emphasizes on how we think as Humans.
He writes about how we have been raised in a certain way and i speak about this in my podcast link ‘The art of living - Part 1’
NLP is basically being aware of our basic senses and how we react to situations. More often than not, we are conditioned or programmed to think in a certain way when someone tells us something.
NLP is all about us as humans having the control our emotions or responses in the event someone or something or a smell activates our neurons to react. It helps us to reprogram our brain and our mind to be programmed in an another way. The results are just at a superficial level when its done by a NLP expert for few minutes, but it will need to be worked on much deeper level.
It is getting into our sub-conscious mind and for some of us, it will be easy while for some it is going to take a while.
There was this excellent article i came across and the link to it is below.
True wealth is health
Yesterday, i was in shock to hear a very popular radio host who suddenly passed and the untimely passing away.
Its made me sink that feeling and that, we are all on the conquest to meet our goals and daily habits.
All of us have our dream.conquer.achieve.repeat
How many of us know that all of that is only possible, if we actually take care of the vehicle/ machine and that is our body that we run on.
I have seen people go to gym and yet constantly on their phones. It may seem that they are doing their daily steps or kilometers, but really affects us all, is the stress, not the lack of exercise.
This is why my intention is to make sure that those who join my program set daily yoga/meditation goals. We need to take time to switch off and slow down the constant chatter that happens in our minds.
True wealth is our health
Leadership
You probably want to lead better. Maybe you want to advance your career. Maybe you want to create more purpose in your work or meaning in your relationships. Maybe you want to lead yourself to greater self-awareness, calmness, growth, and so on.
Maybe you want to be prepared that if something or someone you care about requires leadership -- with your family, friends, community, company, or country -- that you're prepared to act, so others want to work with you.
However, the first step to leadership is the right communication.
Communicating your thoughts and views isn’t as easy for some of us. Most of us find it difficult to articulate them into words and put them into meaning.
We can read as many self help books needed, but at the end ,its all about action. Leadership is about direction and acting intuitively and instinctively which would come out naturally from the knowledge and experience you have gained along the way.
Lets do this.
Bringing out the best out of you
Be it, you are simply working a 8am-5pm job
or
Be it, you want to do something on your own while still doing your 8am-5pm job
or
Be it, you want to start from scratch and having left your 8am-5pm job
We all need a coach or a personal mentor who can help us in difficult trying times. We ONLY live once and the once you live, we need to start living, and not surviving.
Its not all about been happy with what you are doing, its about DOING WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY !!
How many times have you just sat and have been comfortable in your skin or mind or body.
This is not to say, i am perfect, but i have been equipped with the tools and experience, for us to succeed and grow together.
